Dr. Inez Z. Ponce de Leon holds a PhD from Purdue University, where she specialized in science communication. She holds undergraduate and masters degrees in Molecular Biology and Biotechnology from the University of the Philippines, Diliman. She is an associate professor at the Ateneo, and is a member of the faculty of the Department of Communication, where she teaches and does research work on science and risk communication. She is also a regular columnist for the Philippine Daily Inquirer, where she writes about research, the nature of science, and current issues.
